A superb early 19th century Italian carved limestone statue of two putto, one holding up and supporting his companion who is shown perched precariously on a tree stump trying to get a better view of some object or person in the distance. Extremely well modeled and detailed. A pleasing weathered surface has developed over many years spent outside. Found in northern Italy. Height: 58"
